Descriptive: My image is the map of the Concord Mall. Since this picture is describing the layout of the all and where each store is located, this is a descriptive image.

Explantary: Edgerton's photography shows a swimmer perfoming a back flip. This image explains the motions of the dive: how the flip makes a circular motion.

Interpretive: My photograph gives off mysterious energy. The viewer has to make their own conclusion about who the subjects are, what they are doing, and where they are. Since the viewer has to make thier own conclusions, this image is interpretive.

Aesthetically Evaluative: My photograph capture the natural beauty of a snowy night. Since this photo is aesthtically pleasing, this image falls into the aesthetically evaluative category.

Ethically Evaluative: Ut's photograph shows Vietnamese children running as they scream for help after an aerial napalm attack by the South Vietnamese plane seeking Vietcong. Instead, the Vietnamese accidentally dropped its flaming napalm on civilians and government troops. Ut's image is trying to spread the reality of the war casualties.

Theoretical: Manning's photography is refering to photography itself. This image illustrates how what remains in the frame and what is removed is up to the artist.

My New Perception of Photography:

Reviewing McCurry's work influenced my perception of photography by showcasing the power of storytelling through images, the importance of capturing raw emotions, and the ability of a photograpgh to surpass cultural and language barriers. McCurry uses color and compositions to capture decisive moments that are so inspiring. He's images are more than just pictures they are stories that need to be heard whether its about war, culture, or just nature. Before taking this class, I envisioned photography as taking pictures of moments we like and want to remember. I also thought that photographers specialize in a specific area.
