My Favorite Picture
This picture below is my favorite picture I took because this idea came to me accidentally. When I was taking this image, I wasn't even thinking about this photo challenge. I opened my iphone camera trying to open my phone and saw how good my shadow looked. I took a couple of pictures in the dark and this one turned out great for my black and white image.
Most Challenging Part
The most challenging part of this assignment for me was understanding the different types of lighting methods and what times of days would certain lighting be present. I would sometimes take a bunch of pictures in different angles and lighting and go back to the powerpoint to figure out which lighting was used in the picture.
Stronger Images in the Future
After this challenge, I now have a better understanding of how lighting, composition and perspective work. I think I just need to go out more and practice taking pictures. In the future, I plan on trying to tell a story through my image rather than taking pictures of random objects. Storytelling through pictures grabs the viewers attention. My goal is to hold the viewers attention and appeal to their pathos.
Comment on Gioiella Del Vecchio's Challenge
Hi Gioiella,
You did a great job with this dozen photo challenge. I really enjoyed all of your pictures. There were two pictures that really took my attention. The 1st one is the Monochromatic Colors image with all the wood logs. This image could also work as a repetition. I just really like how it's effortlessly appealing. Same with the Complementary Colors image. The colors in this image is what caught my eye. Its so good that I could use it as wallpaper for my phone or laptop. The lighting in both the pictures turned out great, however for the complementary image I would say it needs to be a little bit more brighter. Overall, all your images are great!
Hi Ritu! I like on how that there is an even contrast and spacing within the photo while using black and white. I like how your shadow is the focal point of the image and it gives off a traveling effect to the audience that the subject in the photo, which is you, is traveling by maybe doing a roadtrip.

I think this is a great picture, Ritu! I like how you took advantage of the back light casting your shadow on the ground to create a perfect black and white photo. This is what initially drew me towards the image. The way the light is highlighted around your shadow, but fades towards the top of the image adds a sort of mysterious feeling to the image that I enjoy. I think the overall exposure and the bull's eye composition bring this photo together as the scenery around the main focus of the photo, the shadow, fades into darkness. I also think the depth at which the photo was taken is well done. The shadow is clearly the…
