My Favorite Picture
This picture below is my most sucessful image. It captures the natural beauty of a snow night. The white snow contrasts with the blackish sky making the scene more aesthetically pleasing to the viewer. This image is wouldn't be as beatiful had it been taken in the daylight. The nightlight makes us appreciate the snow and the tire marks on the road.
Most Challenging Part
The most challenging part of this assignment was to differentiate certain images into one category. Some images were both descriptive and explanatory.
Stronger Images in the Future
Last week I talked about how I want to tell stories through my images. Using this weeks lecture, I am able to categorize my photograghs into six catergory. I belive this will help me get a stronger emotion out of the viewer, thus capturing the veiwer attention.
Comment on Jade Barrett's Challenge
Hi Jade,
I think you did an amazing job with this challenge. Each image does a great job representing each category. I think my favorite image you took from this challenge is the Aesthetically Evaluative. This image is taken from a higher prepective, showing the landscape. The topography of the land is captures in pure daylight showing the greenary of the land. This image makes me feel peaceful since I love images of nature. Another image that held my attention was the explanatory image. The black and white colors do a great job showing the viewer the golfer movements.
I really love the images you used for this assignment! My favorite is the interpretative one of the shadows on the ground; it definitely gives off a mysterious vibe and they are almost perfectly symmetrical. It could be interpreted in so many different ways. I also love the way the image is straight and a little crooked; it makes it much more interesting.

Your work was very beautiful! I loved this picture, the contrast is very unique and paired with the snow gives the photo an airy yet mysterious feeling. It definitely fits in the aesthetic category. The lighting of the street lamp, snow, and sky together looks great and is dynamic.
My one suggestion would be to take the picture lower to the ground. I think being a bit lower while using one of the tire tracks as a leading line would look really neat, especially with this lighting. Overall, great work, your pictures were very good and fit the categories well!
Hey Ritu! I really enjoy this photo because of the different levels of lighting and as you said the distinct contrast in the image. The cars along the curbs provide leading lines and the tire tracks engraved in the snow captures my eye. The lighting is strong as well, as the snow provides a bright reflection in the front of the image. In the sky you can see how the light makes the viewer feel like it might be earlier in the day than the actual time. I also think including the indistinct lamp post in the left corner was a great choice because you are able to recognize that it's there without the physical object in the image. One…
